The qualification adds to Sheppard’s UEFA A Licence, strengthening his credentials as one of the Kaizer Chiefs’ most highly qualified members of the technical team.

His latest achievement comes after completing the CAF coaching programme in Tanzania. Reflecting on the milestone, Sheppard thanked Amakhosi for their support throughout the process.

KAIZER CHIEFS CELEBRATE COACHING MILESTONE

“I’m proud to have achieved this. The journey started some time ago and came with challenges along the way, but I’m glad I’ve reached the goal,” Sheppard told the club’s media.

“I’m grateful to the Club for standing by me throughout the process, and I’ll work hard to share the knowledge I have acquired with our players and other coaches within the Club,” hesadded

Sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. praised the achievement and highlighted the value it brings to both the academy and senior structures.

“We fully support the education and development of our coaches. Having Coach Sheppy qualified to work at the highest level in Africa with his CAF A Licence, as well as in Europe with his UEFA A Licence, means our players – both in the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy and the senior team – will benefit greatly. We are proud and happy for him,” Motaung Jr. said.

SHEPPARD CONFIRMED AS SECOND ASSISTANT COACH

The announcement also confirms an important development behind the scenes at Naturena. Sheppard has officially been appointed as Kaizer Chiefs’ second assistant coach, working under new head coach Fernando da Cruz alongside assistant coach Mahmoud Abbas in the Betway Premiership.

In addition to his senior responsibilities, Sheppard will continue serving as the link between the reserve side and the first team, maintaining his close collaboration with DDC coach Vela Khumalo.

He performed a similar bridging role under the previous technical team, helping Amakhosi secure a third-place finish in the Betway Premiership last season.

The promotion signals the club’s confidence in Sheppard’s ability to contribute both on the training ground and in the long-term development of Kaizer Chiefs’ next generation of talent.
