Happening Today 🚨

Television personality and musician Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court today in connection with an alleged incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale.

Police allege that on the morning of 14 June, after the driver dropped off a female passenger at Maarohanye’s residence, the 45-year-old confronted him and accused him of being romantically involved with his girlfriend. It is further alleged that Maarohanye forced the driver into a vehicle, prevented him from leaving, and discharged a firearm in his direction. The driver escaped unharmed and reported the matter to police.

Maarohanye faces charges including kidnapping, the unlawful discharge of a firearm, and defeating the ends of justice. He was released on R5,000 bail following a High Court urgent application after initial delays in his court appearance, with the matter now postponed to today for further proceedings while investigations continue.
