Must-win match

Nothing short of a victory will be required for Hugo Broos’ team to stand any chance of progressing to the Round of 32.

Bafana Bafana lost their opening match 2-0 against co-hosts Mexico and followed that up with a 1-1 draw against Czech Republic, leaving them bottom of the group.

As a reminder, the top two sides in each of the 12 groups, plus the eight best third-placed finishers will progress to the Last 32 stage.

Mexico have already clinched top spot in Group A.

Mexico and Czech Republic will take on each other at the same time at the Mexico City Stadium where another Argentina referee, Yael Falcon Perez, will be the man with the all-important whistle.

How far will Bafana Bafana progress at this year’s FIFA World Cup?
