Ashay Sewlall was evicted a week before the finale in the Big Brother Mzansi house, proving to be so close yet so far to the finish line.

The 24-year-old, who was fondly known for his famous line “Maw’mnandi umnandi (if you are nice, you are nice), made history in the house by winning the Head of House title three times in a row. He also jokingly added that he is the first Indian man to have entered the show. Ashay was evicted alongside Mmeli Khumalo, leaving the top six still vying for the grand prize of R2 million.

Ashay recently sat down with BONA to discuss his plans now that he has been evicted from the house. He revealed that he would like to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry.

“I want to work with Mzansi Magic, I want to work with DSTV, Big Brother, in acting; in the entertainment industry as a whole, I’m ready for whatever is coming,” he shared.

The content creator also said that being in the house for this long has taught him to not change who he is, no matter what circumstances he is facing.

“Although housemates tried to tell me that being too nice is going to go against me. If it did, I’m just happy I was myself,” said Ashay.

He also shared that he also represented the culture of Indians well, and that he had some housemates joining in on the indian dance challenges.

When asked who he thinks will clinch the grand prize, here is what he said:

“As much as Liema and Bravo B are the two closest people to me that are in the house right now, I’m gonna have to be honest about this one and say Thandeka is the main character; she’s been the main character. I just think she had the whole show mainly focusing on her. I think she is, but I wish all the housemates all the best and good luck.”
