About 140 golfers and business leaders gathered at Euphoria Golf Estate, raising hundreds of thousands of rands for Limpopo students pursuing qualifications in Hydrogeology and Water Resource Engineering.
Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba said the initiative proved that neither government nor individuals could succeed in isolation.
“Even with golf, you cannot play alone. There is no way you can succeed in whatever you do unless there is a collaborative effort.”
Ramathuba also joked that her tee-off was better than that of Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie.
The bursaries will help develop the professionals needed to confront Limpopo’s water and infrastructure challenges.
