Zwane Sends Message To Chiefs Fans

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has sent a message to the fans after their draw against Marumo Gallants left them in 14th place in the DStv Premiership.

Chiefs started the new season with renewed hope and optimism after the appointment of Zwane and a squad overhaul which saw 13 players released and nine signed.

Amakhosi sent a message out of looking towards the future, building a new squad that typifies the identity of the brand and historic playing style but with two wins, two draws and three defeats, sections of their support base have already called for changes in the technical team.

Zwane, who signed a three-year deal as the successor to Stuart Baxter in the off-season was asked what would he say to the disgruntled fans after the 1-1 draw against Gallants and he reiterated that things will improve this season.

“We’ll keep grinding, unfortunately, we couldn’t get the maximum points, and we know we could have done better, things will change for the better,” Zwane said after the game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

“There is a light beyond the dark tunnel, we are getting into the final third entry, we’re not just… yes, even though today we were a little bit flat in terms of energy levels, but we still have more goal-scoring opportunities than them.

“Even before the [red card] we could have still done better, in terms of being clinical, punishing them, we don’t take those chances. Until we still start taking them, then ya…”

Chiefs are eight points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played one game more than the Soweto giants – who will face SuperSport United next in the league.
