Zwane Reacts To Chiefs’ Shock Arrows Defeat Ahead Of Soweto Derby

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane said they gave the game away in the 3-2 defeat against Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Chiefs took the lead early through a powerful Sifiso Hlanti header but were pegged back on the brink of half-time when Knox Mutizwa set up Ntsako Makhubela for the equaliser.

Mduduzi Shabalala put the home side ahead just after the break with a powerful effort past Siyabonga Mbatha and had another chance to make it 3-1 but spurned it.

Chiefs were left made to rue that when a brace from Mutizwa in the space of ten minutes turned the game on it’s head in Arrows’ favour.

“We gave the game away, easy game for me – look at the number of chances we created in the first half, look at the goals, how we conceded as well,” Zwane said after the game to SuperSport TV.

“We were just flat, actually we played in patches. But whenever we were going forward we looked dangerous – but didn’t take enough chances. We created enough to win this game and we could’ve defened better.

“Unfortunately we didn’t take the chances, it’s part of the game and I can falter the performances of the boys.”

Amakhosi now turn their attention to Orlando Pirates, who they host at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
