Arthur Zwane has named three Kaizer Chiefs players who can replace Njabulo Blom after his move to Major League Soccer side St. Louis City.
Blom, 23, completed a move to the Major Soccer League, as confirmed by Kaizer Chiefs before Christmas, joining the new side of Bradley Carnell.
Zwane has wished the youth product of the Glamour Boys well after his side couldn’t agree onto a new deal with the midfielder.
“As a club, we’re happy for Njabulo. He’s done his part and we’re happy for him that he’s growing now as an individual,” he told journalists.
In the first game since Blom’s departure, Zwane opted to field his namesake Samkelo Zwane in the defensive midfield position.
However, the Chiefs arch insisted the 21-year-old is not his only option in the defensive midfield position, even though Zwane has done well so far.
“Coming to the young Zwane, it’s competition for places,” he added.
“Remember there is still Nange, there is still Cole Alexander and we gave the young man the opportunity, he grabbed it with both hands.
“We’re happy for him. As you said, we’ll make sure that we keep him grounded and focussed. So far so good, he’s doing very well for himself.”
Chiefs return to action on Saturday when they will host Sekhukhune United on the club’s 53rd birthday.
