Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has given an injury update ahead of the the return of the DStv Premiership and revealed that Edmilson Dove and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana have not yet returned from their international trips.
Amakhosi return to action on Saturday when they will host in-form Stellenbosch FC at the FNB Stadium.
While Chiefs themselves have won their last four matches in all competitions for the first time under Zwane – a run that has seen them climb into fourth place on the log, the visitors have collected six wins in their last seven matches.
Zwane confirmed ahead of the game that his side don’t have any new injuries, with only their long-term absentees remaining sidelined, while Dove and Bimenyimana are yet to return from their national teams.
“We’re coming back from a break. I think we have almost everyone available, except for those who were not available due to injuries and suspension,” he said, when asked by iDiski Times.
“Dove and Caleb will arrive today [Thursday] and will miss today’s session. We also have some niggling injuries that we carry from the past game.
“We’ll also have a practice match to keep everyone sharp and ready for the upcoming game.
“As much as everyone thinks we had all the players at our disposal but we still had challenges, players that were carrying injuries and we had to manage them.
“Also those ones who are not going to be available so we still have to reshuffle the team and make sure we put out a strong team for the upcoming game.”
The Glamour Boys will definitely miss Yusuf Maart due to an accumulation of yellow cards, while Barker will be without his own midfield engine Sibongiseni Mthethwa due to suspension.
Stellenbosch have climbed into seventh place with 30 points on the DStv Premiership log, while Chiefs have 37 and need a win to keep their top-two hopes alive.
