Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has remained coy on whether goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana will be available for Saturday’s Soweto Derby.

Zwane and his Orlando Pirates counterpart took part in a joint press conference ahead of the derby, which will be the first since Covid-19 to be sold out.

Khune picked up an injury in the DStv Premiership match against Stellenbosch and missed his side’s defeat against Chippa United.

He did return to the starting XI against TS Galaxy, only to drop out after warm-up and also missed the MTN8 semi-final second leg against AmaZulu.

Bimenyimana, meanwhile, missed the game against Galaxy with a muscle injury but returned for the MTN8 semi-final second leg against AmaZulu, only to be taken off with his face showing some pain after 62 minutes.

Zwane, though, kept his cards close to his chest on Thursday, not giving any updates on the two players.

“At the moment, we’re trying to look at how we can approach this game,” Zwane said during the pre-match press conference ahead of the match.

“Yes, we came into this week with a lot of knocks here and there. We’ll see who is available and who is not available.

“Tomorrow we will get the report from the medical team as to who is ready for Saturday.”

Chiefs, who did the double over Pirates last season, will face the Buccaneers in the Soweto Derby at 15:30 on Saturday.
