Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has confirmed that Cole Alexander, Khama Billiat and Phathutshedzo Nange have returned to training for the Amakhosi.

The Glamour Boys face AmaZulu in a tough away encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday evening, when Zwane and his men will be keen to make their fans forget about the 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United, which spoilt the the club’s 53rd birthday celebrations.

Chiefs enter the game in fourth place with 24 points, just three behind second-placed SuperSport United and six ahead of Friday’s opponents.

Zwane had some positive news ahead of the match, with the afore-mentioned trio of players returning to training this week.

“We’ve been unfortunate in terms of the number of injuries this season. Cole, Khama, Nange started training this weekend,” he told the club’s media team.

“We are still preparing players for the coming games. We have young players who are equally good who can grab the opportunity.

“We will put up the best available eleven players who will be able to go out there and represent the Club.”

Chiefs, though, will be without the suspended S’fiso Hlanti, but Zwane insisted it’s an opportunity for another player to make a claim for a spot in the team.

“We will not have much of a challenge [to select a starting XI] when you look at the team,” he added.

“S’fiso Hlanti being suspended presents another opportunity for a player who has not been playing for some time to show that he is good enough and boost his confidence.

“Football is a game of opportunities and it’s an opportunity for another player. The competition is healthy.

“If the player who takes his position does well, it pushes Hlanti to work even harder and use his experience.

“We are hoping that the player who is going to start in that position will do well for the Club and for himself.”
