Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says there is a huge possibility that they will be without defender Zitha Kwinika when they host Casric Stars, while Christian Saile Basomboli will be suspended.
Zwane said Kwinika picked up an injury in the 1-0 victory over Richards Bay FC at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.
On top Kwinika, Zwane will be without the services of Saile, who received his fourth booking in the win after he dived inside the box, trying to buy referee Masixole Bambiso to give him a penalty.
Ashley du Preez also missed the Bay match, as he wasn’t passed fit by Chiefs medical department following the exertion of the Soweto Derby win over Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium last weekend.
“We started without Ashley, next week we will be without Zitha, who won’t be available,” said Zwane.
“Christian won’t be available due to suspension. We are struggling to keep a consistent line-up in terms of the first 11 so that we can build on it. We have been struggling to get that one right.”
Chiefs’ squad is already been mired by injuries as they are without Khama Billiat, Cole Alexander, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons, who are all ruled out with long-term injuries.
Chiefs beat Bay via a header of Siyabonga Ngezana in the eighth minute, rising above everyone to beat Salim Mogoola, to take the Natal Rich Boys’ fourth spot.
It was the second time this season Chiefs have won two matches on the bounce and the Amakhosi are now level on 34 points with their arch rivals Pirates after 22 matches played.
Chiefs now turn their attention to cup football, with Casric Stars visiting them at the FNB Stadium in the Nedbank Cup.
