Bongani Zungu, who had been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the season, has discussed his potential next move with his Amiens contract expiring in two months.
Zungu is in the final months of his contract with the Ligue 2 side and eligible to sign a pre-contract with potential suitors but seemingly hasn’t made a decision over his future yet.
The 29-year-old missed the first half of the campaign but helped Amiens to climb from 19th into 11th spot on the Ligue 2 log, making 13 appearances since December.
He now confirmed that Amiens president Bernard Joannin wants to meet his representative to discuss a potential new contract in France.
“I have been in Amiens for several years and a lot has happened. I have a little weakness and a very special feeling for this club,” he said, as per Le11Amienois.
“I arrived here from Portugal, the fans always treated me well, the president was very well with me throughout my contract.
“For the moment, all I can say is: we will see what happens. The president wants to meet with my agent to discuss.
“I’ve never had a problem with Amiens SC, I’ve always been happy, the fans treated me well and it was a pleasure to be here.
“No matter what happens, Amiens will always have a special place in my heart.”

Zungu, though, insisted that he is good enough to play in Ligue 1.
“This is life! I am a good player, I know it, and if I invest, if I work hard, I can find a club in Ligue 1 or anywhere else in the world,” he added.
“This is an option, if we do not agree during discussions.”
Zungu joined Amiens from Vitoria Guimarares in 2017 but the French side were relegated from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2 in 2019/20. Overall, Zungu has made 75 appearances for the club.
