Zungu Announces AmaZulu Coach Decision

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has announced that Brandon Truter has secured himself the permanent head coach position at the club.

Truter took over from Benni McCarthy after the reigning DStv Premiership Coach of the Season left the club by mutual consent on 25 March.

He collected three 1-0 wins, three 0-0 draws and a 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows in their final game of the season to finish in seventh place.

Zungu has now stated that Truter has done enough to stabilise the ship and Usuthu will go with Brakkies at the helm into the 2022/23 campaign.

“Yes, I can confirm Brandon Truter will get his permanent appointment as coach, he did well under the circumstances,” Zungu told KickOff.

“And quite clearly we were not going to make a top-eight finish at the rate which we were going.

“He’s done well to secure a seventh position finish, I can’t go into details but he’s going to be our permanent coach.”
