It’s the end of the road for Zolisa Xaluva who stars as Melusi Dlamini in Mzansi Magic’s Telenovela, Gomora. He ditched the show after not seeing eye to eye with the producers.
The actor hasn’t found a new job but the disagreement was so bad that he decided to leave and look for other opportunities. According to reports the star confronted the show producers about the storyline which he isn’t comfortable with his storyline.
Zolisa plays the role of Gomora High principal and was married to Gladys, a well-known social worker (played by Thembi Seete). He hardly showed affection to his wife but always chased after his ex Thati who is now a married woman. Melusi is also a strict father who has high expectations for his son, Ntokozo (Ntobeko Sishi), who lives to please and be validated by his father.
In recent episodes, the school principal was seen stalking his former lover. Well, before we get to how the star’s character will exit the show, it also came to light that Zolisa’s frank attitude on several issues rubbed producers the wrong way and they’re happy to see him go.
“Producers have been trying to get rid of him but MultiChoice refused to let him go, and eventually got the go-ahead. He is a brilliant actor, but there are things producers can’t tolerate,” said a source.
Now let’s get to he will exit the show. Fans of the show have already noticed that Zolisa Xaluva’s character, Melusi Dlamini, was not mentioned in the TVSA May teasers.
Melusi killed Phumlani on Friday after discovering him attempting to murder his love interest Thati – played by Katlego Danke. Melusi also called the cops on himself and was arrested, rather than cleaning up the body and escaping with murder.
Thati will be released from jail this week, according to the season three teaser, and her family will hate her for ‘killing Phumlani,’ as they adored him and thought he was a better man than Melusi.
