Ziyech’s PSG Deal Falls Through

The proposed loan of Morocco superstar Hakim Ziyech to Paris Saint-Germain has fallen through.

Ziyech, 29, was one of the standout performers of Morocco during the 2022 FIFA World Cup when they became the first African country to reach the semi-finals.

He has also featured more regularly for Chelsea since returning from the tournament in Qatar, but never really lived up to expectations at the Blues.

It seemed like he had now been given a new lifeline by PSG, who wanted to sign him on loan on Deadline Day.

However, the French side could not complete his registration due to issues with the paper work. Even an appeal on Wednesday morning was unsuccessful, as per journalist Ben Jacobs.

PSG are understood to be furious with Chelsea, who are alleged to have sent unsigned paper work at least two times, according to L’Equipe.

As a consequence, Ziyech who was already in Paris, ready to put pen to paper, now has to return to Stamford Bridge.
