‘Your storylines encourage men to oppress women’ Muvhango viewers threaten to boycott the show.

Muvhango has been entertaining Mzansi telenovela lovers for over a decade with its one of a kind and entertaining stories. The viewers and the production have had an up and down relationship over the years. However, viewers have recently complained that the show promotes oppression against women with its storylines.

The Azwindini and Susan storyline

After being stuck in the elevator with Gugu, Azwindini developed feelings for the woman. His family was worried outside, and he began an affair in the rabble. After the two were rescued, they pursued an affair till Azwindini asked Gugu to be his second wife. Gugu, who does not want a polygamous marriage, turned him down till he agreed to divorce Susan. When they separated, Gugu followed a relationship with Vhutshilo, Azwindini’s son.

Trying to save her marriage Susan used muthi on Azwindini, which worked. When she was discovered, the backlash from Azwindini was fierce. He kicked her out of his house and used his connections to make her lose her job. His vengeance went too far as he was not a saint after all, and Susan started fighting back.

Viewers are tired of that storyline because Azwindini keeps winning and getting away with bullying Susan. For years in their marriage, he has been walking over her bringing many women to their matrimonial home. He even stole her car and got away with it after spending his money on a slay queen. His mother and most family members act like he is always right.

Tendamudzimu and Moipone storyline

After witnessing Tenda murder Hulisani, Moipone has been on Tenda’s radar. Whenever Tenda gets caught in his lies, he finds a way to manipulate people so that their stories can lose their credibility. Recently he threatened Moipone and brought her to change her testimony and say Tshireletso killed Hulisani. The angry nephew then held Tenda’s family hostage but got killed at the end. Viewers are sore and tired of Tenda getting away with breaking the law and even Mpho acting like Tenda is a saint.

Muvhango viewers are threatening to stop watching the show if the writers don’t wrap up their storylines with a silver lining. One Instagram user said that:

It seems like their storyline encourages men to oppress women; it’s boring!!! Can’t you change your angle really some of us are loosing interest
