The First Note, created by Y, is an exciting first-of-its-kind, strictly digital, music talent search competition designed to uncover, develop and celebrate the next generation of South African musical talent.
An exciting platform for emerging artists to showcase their voices, creativity and artistry, The First Note gives aspiring performers with a smartphone from across South Africa the opportunity to step into the spotlight and compete for a life-changing breakthrough in the music industry.
Inspired by some of the world’s most impactful music competitions, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between raw talent and real industry opportunity with as low a barrier to entry as possible.
About Langa King’s new song
Heaven is a soulful dance song about calling on the heavens for an angel to help us through the struggles we face in everyday life.
It starts from a place of feeling overwhelmed, with too many thoughts and emotions, and the need to break free and feel alive again. As the song unfolds, music becomes the escape, a place where you can dance, worship, let go and feel free.
Heaven represents both a spiritual place and a feeling of peace where the mind, body and soul can reconnect. Ultimately, the song is about finding healing, freedom and hope through the power of music.
