Woolworths milk viral review cracks up South Africa

A TikTok that turned milk into comedy gold

South Africans love a good laugh, and sometimes it comes from the most ordinary things. TikTok creator @luxolo.bukaza proved that when he posted a dramatic review of Woolworths milk that had the country in stitches.

In his video, shared on 28 September 2025, he lifted up a carton of milk and declared with a straight face: “You can literally taste that this cow had medical aid. This cow has a will. The milk is milking. The cream is there, it’s not full, it is overflowing.”

A review that sounded like theatre

What started as a simple taste test quickly became a full performance. He claimed the milk had given him superpowers: “I can see better, I can hear sounds. Everything is gonna be better. This end, this is the beginning. Genesis, it’s the rapture.”

It was less about the milk itself and more about how over-the-top his delivery was. Viewers couldn’t stop laughing at how he turned Woolies milk into the centrepiece of a one-man show.

Mzansi responds with humour and pride

The video spread fast across TikTok and other platforms, drawing thousands of comments and shares. Many South Africans praised his creativity, joking that Woolworths should sign him up as a brand ambassador.

Typical reactions included:

  • “Becoming Mr Woolworths.”

  • “The cow was raised by both parents and sent to an elite school.”

  • “Woolies is the best milk. I can’t drink any other milk.”

Not everyone agreed, though. One commenter simply said: “I find it tastes bad, xem.” But the overwhelming majority leaned into the humour and celebrated the exaggeration.

Why it landed so well

Woolworths, affectionately called “Woolies” by South Africans, has long been the subject of memes and jokes for its reputation as a premium brand. The milk review tapped into that familiar theme, poking fun at Woolies’ high-quality image while secretly acknowledging that it does stand out.

It also shows something deeper about South African culture. Comedy often springs from everyday life, whether it’s a loaf of bread, a bottle of juice or, in this case, a carton of milk. By exaggerating the ordinary, people find common ground and laughter.

From groceries to giggles

This TikTok wasn’t just about milk. It was about how humour binds South Africans together. One man’s playful review reminded everyone that even the basics can spark joy when delivered with creativity.

And in true Mzansi style, the verdict was unanimous: the milk is milking, and the jokes are overflowing.
