The daughter had just returned home from school when her father raped her, a police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng said.

“On the 21 February 2022, at about 14:30, the 16-year-old girl went to her bedroom to change out of her school uniform.
“Her father entered the bedroom, undressed, and forced the daughter on the bed before raping her. While he was busy, his wife walked in,” he said.
His wife inquired as to what on earth he was up to but he just dressed up without saying a word.
Winburg Police Station was notified of the incident. Police arrested the 41-year-old father and are now looking into a rape case.
He is scheduled to appear in Winburg Magistrate Court soon.
The total number of rape cases being recorded as of late is alarming. People are encouraged to report such as soon as possible, either to a hospital or nearest police station.
