South Africa crumbled to a T20 series defeat in the Caribbean as the West Indies went 2-0 up in the three match series.
An incredible bowling performance in Trinidad helped the hosts come back in style to take an unassailable series lead against the World Cup finalists.
After a seven-wicket win in the first game, there would be a few more surprises with the hosts batting first this time.
Chasing down a target of 180, the Proteas got off to a good start with Reeza Hendricks (44) and Ryan Rickelton (20) helping them to 71/2 in the powerplay.
The tide took a drastic turn in the final six overs, though, as the visitors went from 129/3 to 149 all out as Romario Shepherd and Shamar Joseph got the job done for the Windies.
South African captain Aiden Markram said that his young side would do all they can to learn from their mistakes as they play for pride in the final game on Tuesday.
“It’s tough to put a finger on the learnings right now but one thing guaranteed with us is a never-say-die attitude,” he said.
