The UK government is reportedly considering introducing legislation to remove Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from the line of royal succession.

EX-PRINCE ANDREW’S ARREST: WILL HE BE REMOVED FROM LINE OF SUCCESSION?

Luke Pollard, Minister for Defence Procurement of United Kingdom, said that the move, to prevent Andrew from becoming King was the “right thing to do,” regardless of the outcome of the police investigation, according to BBC.

Andrew is currently eighth in line to the throne despite being stripped of his titles, including “prince” back in October. Currently the line of sucession is as follows:

  • Prince William, Prince of Wales
  • Prince George
  • Princess Charlotte
  • Prince Louis
  • Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex
  • Prince Archie
  • Princess Lilibet
  • Andrew

Andrew is the younger brother of monarch King Charles. His daughter, Princess Beatrice is currently ninth in line, followed by her daughter Sienna Mapelli Mozzi.

PRINCE ANDREW ARRESTED ON 66TH BIRTHDAY

Ex-Prince Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday on Thursday 19 February. He was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly passing secret documents to pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein.

The disgraced royal spent 11 hours in custody. He was reportedly treated just like any other suspect, given DNA swabs, fingerprints and a mugshot. King Charles released a statement following his arrest. In the statement, King Charles expressed that full, fair and proper process will follow. He also said the police have his full support. He went on to say that the law must take it’s course and he will not comment further.

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities,” read the statement.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation,” read the statement.

“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all,” King Charles continued.
