A 41-year-old man was arrested for the alleged rape of his daughter. According to police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng the 16-year-old was raped earlier this week.
“On 21 February 2022, at about 14:30, a 16-year-old school learner returned home from school and went to her bedroom to change clothes when her father apparently entered the bedroom, undressed himself and forced the child on the bed, and raped her. His wife entered the room and caught him in the act,” he said.
According to Thakeng the incident was reported to Winburg Police Station.
A case of rape was registered.
The 41-year-old man was arrested by police on a charge of rape and he will soon appear in Winburg Magistrate’s Court.
