No sooner had Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema confessed to visiting Thabo Bester – or “TK Motsepe” – in jail than the actress swiftly deleted her statement.

But while her words were deleted from her Instagram account, it found their way onto Twitter, where South Africans have many valid questions.

SIMZ NGEMA DODGES UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, Simz Ngema confessed to visiting Thabo Bester – who introduced himself as TK Motsepe – in jail in 2018. In it, she claims Bester owed her money after booking her for several appearances.

That same year, Bester formed a multi-million rand company, 21st Century Media, which had a lavish, star-studded launch in Sandton.

Simz claimed she visited Bester once – on 5 April 2018. Two months later, Bester would launch the company at the Hilton hotel, inviting guests like Nomzamo Mbatha, Amanda du Pont, and Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

At the time, Bester – under the alias Tom or TK Motsepe – duped the public into believing he was living in New York. He also claimed he was related to billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe. Meanwhile, the convicted criminal was actually holed up at the Mangaung Correctional Centre.

Simz added that she also wanted “answers,” although she stopped short of giving them to the public.

On Twitter, many tweeps had valid questions about her affiliation with a convicted rapist, murderer, and fraudster.

She tweeted in response to the statement: “So.. she knew they were running a scam from prison and didn’t report it? Simz Ngema’s statement proves that a lot more people knew about this man’s dealings and said nothing. You owed money by TK, but you find Thabo Bester in prison?

“Why not ask for money from the booking company or Nandipha? How did she find him? How many events was she booked for? Who paid her for those? Who created the events? Those people need to be arrested, too. Where did the money for the events come from? All these people must answer.”

“She cracked his real identity and didn’t report the crime? Went on to see him and still didn’t alert the authorities? How did she solely find him? Who else was booked? Who paid them?”

“She just made the biggest mistake of her life! She has publicly admitted to working with a criminal. Meaning she knew she was working for an inmate

“She says 21st Century hired her but went to Bester for money…. Who did she really work for?”
