Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has given an update on the availability of Efmamjjasond González for his potential debut for the club.

González, who was plying his trade in the Bolivian Primera Division for Real Santa Cruz, arrived in the country this week to start his DStv Premiership career.

The club unveiled him on Wednesday, just three days after another newly signed striker Ranga Chivaviro limped off the pitch after picking a hamstring injury.

Chivaviro had to be substituted in the 36th minute due to the injury as Chiefs went on to lose 1-0 to TS Galaxy.

The former Marumo Gallants forward has started doing his rehab and is expected to be out for two weeks.

Meanwhile, at the Chiefs’ training session on Thursday afternoon, the new Colombian forward, González, was a notable absentee.

Speaking to the media before the training session at the Kaizer Chiefs Village at Naturena, Ntseki said that González was still acclimatising while the club “is still working on his paperwork”.

“Gonzalez just arrived yesterday [Wednesday], and I think because of the timelines, he still has to recover.

“The difference [in the time zones] is plus five hours. The admin side of the club is still working on his paperwork.

“As soon as that one is done, he will be available for selection and for training.”

With Friday the only day left before the next league game, González could make his debut next week on Wednesday when Chiefs travel to Cape Town. Amakhosi play Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday next week in a league game.

Chiefs fans will be hoping that González can make his debut soon and help the club get goals.

The Soweto giants have only managed to score one goal in the league in the 2-1 defeat to Sundowns. Their other two goals came in the MTN8 Cup quarterfinal against Cape Town City.

Saturday’s tie against Usuthu [17h30] will be their fourth league encounter this season.
