Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi took charge of his first game as caretaker until the end of the season. Bandile Shandu broke the deadlock in the 64th minute, before Mpho Mvelase struck a later equaliser. The point left Orlando Pirates with 56 points in second place, while Galaxy secured 35 points in fifth place.
Coming up next for the Buccaneers is a trip to SuperSport United on Tuesday night. The game will start at 19:30 from the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
