What Tembo demands from his Sekhukhune players

The DStv Premiership match against Stellenbosch is a perfect opportunity for Sekhukhune United to turn things around, says head coach Kaitano Tembo.

Babina Noko will welcome Stellies at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday at 17:30.

Despite being one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market in the current transfer window period, Sekhukhune has struggled to produce results on the field.

The likes of Daniel Cardoso, Victor Letsoalo, Ali Bangare, Linda Mntambo, and Tshegofatso Mabasa are some of the major signings by the club.

But the Limpopo club remain rooted at the bottom of the log with six points from their opening seven matches.

TEMBO OUTLINES IMPORTANCE OF THE GAME

“A very important game for us against Stellenbosch. They are coming off a good win against Swallows away from home so they are really motivated,” Tembo told the club’s media department.

“But I think we can take a lot from our last away game against Cape Town City where we thought we did very well as a team.

“And we created a lot of chances and we also kept a clean sheet after a very long time. So those are the positives we can take for this game.

“But at the same time, we also have to approach this game with a little bit of confidence because we are playing at home.

“Three points are very key for us, we now need to try to turn this around and I think this game gives us the opportunity,” he added.

“Looking at the mood in the camp, players are really motivated and looking forward to the game.”

Sekhukhune are on a five matches winless streak.

The last time they registered a victory was on 10 August when they defeated Golden Arrows 1-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium. It was also their only win of the season.

Since then, they have suffered three defeats and two draws, that’s two out of a possible 15 points.
