Songstress Kelly Khumalo has left social media users foaming at the mouth following her explosive interview on eNCA. Kelly had a sit down interview with Slindelo Masikana following the premiere of her much anticipated new season of her reality show Life With Kelly season 3.
The songstress has been making headlines lately following the developments in the Senzo Meyiwa’s murder trial. Meyiwa was gunned down in Vosloorus during an alleged robbery gone wrong at the home of his then girlfriend Kelly Khumalo.
Almost a decade after his brutal murder, there is still no conviction, but rumors as to who the killer might have been keep surfacing. With his high profile murder trial now in court, his family is optimistic that justice will prevail.
Kelly who continues to get dragged on social media for allegedly being mum about what happened on that fateful night when Senzo was murdered, spoke candidly about her views on Mzansi’s cancel culture and the justice system.
In her interview, Kelly discussed the lowest points in her life and expressed disappointment with the justice system in the country:
“As a South African citizen I trust and believe in the law to protect not just me but my family, and our society but with what has happened to me. I’ve had my life threatened, I’ve had my family threatened multiple times, and I feel like the law is not coming into place to protect and make me feel like it is in my rights to have protection,” she stated.
When asked whether he misses Senzo everyday Kelly said “All the time without a shadow of doubt . Not just missing him feel like he could have been a great father to our daughter as he was to his two older daughters,” she continued.
At the time of Senzo’s murder the soccer star was reportedly married to Mandisa Mkhize. When asked why she continued with Senzo whilst he was supposedly married Kelly dropped a bombshell. She alleged that Senzo dumped Mandisa for her. “I didn’t continue, he dropped his relationship to be with me” she said.
Despite social media backlash, Kelly continues to keep her head high up. There has been a huge uproar on social media calling on cancel culture to go in full force against her. It has been alleged that she benefitted from Senzo’s murder, but she has denied this.
“First of all I was Kelly Khumalo before Senzo Meyiwa. I did not know who Senoz Meyiwa was until a friend of mine Lucia Mthiyabe explained to me who he was. Nobody knew who Senzo Meyiwa was until he was attached to the brand Kelly Khumalo,” she said,
“I’ve had nothing to gain with either his gains or losses, all I had was ,” she said. Her statement has left tweeps fuming and they accuse her of disrespecting Senzo Meyiwa’s legacy and brand.
Kelly has maintained that she wants her day in court to that she can also share her own version of events. Last moth advocate Malesela Teffo left tongues wagging after he claimed that Kelly allegedly fired the fatal shot that claimed the life of Senzo Meyiwa.
