WCQ 2022: Senegal And Egypt Announce Squads

2022 AFCON winners Senegal and finalists Egypt have named their squads as they prepare to battle against each other during World Cup qualifiers play-offs in March.

After winning the AFCON for the very first time in history, Senegal announced their squad that will face Egypt for a place in Qatar in December 2022. while Egypt also named their squad, which will be led by their talisman Mohamed Salah.

Egyptian national team coach Carlos Queiroz knows the importance of qualifying for this big event as they failed to win AFCON against the same side Senegal.

“The Pharaohs” have managed to qualify three times [1934, 1990 & 2018 ] for the World Cup while “The Lions of Taranga” have only managed to qualify twice [ 2002 & 2018 ]

Egypt and Senegal Squads:

EGYPT:

Goalkeepers: 

Mohamed El-Shennawy (Al Ahly), Mohamed Abou-Gabal (Zamalek), Mohamed Sobhi (Pharco FC).

Defenders: 

Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Abdelmomen, Ayman Ashraf (Al Ahly), Omar Kamal (Future FC), Omar Gaber (Pyramids FC), Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh, Mahmoud Alaa Ahmed Fatouh (Zamalek)

The first leg of the playoffs is set to take place on the 25 March in Cairo, Egypt then the return leg will be played three days after in Dakar, Senegal.
