After Cameroon international Marou Souaibou was linked with Orlando Pirates last week, Coton Sport have come out and denied the striker has signed with any club yet.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of conjecture after it was reported that the World Cup-bound forward had already penned a deal with Pirates.
Souaibou was included in Rigobert Song’s squad for Qatar, but after being connected with Pirates and a few other clubs, his current employers, Coton Sport, have denied he has signed with another team.
“Souaibou Marou player of Coton Sport, has been the subject of several desires for a few months, to date, he has not signed any contract with another club,” the club posted on their social media platforms on Sunday.
“Happy World Cup to him and the indomitable lions,” they concluded.
While Souaibou’s move has not been confirmed, his compatriot Bertrand Mani’s has, with the 25-year-old CHAN international having signed for Cape Town City.
