Few things are more frustrating than carefully applying your makeup, only to find your concealer has settled into fine lines a short while later.

While some creasing is completely normal—especially around the eyes—your application technique and skincare routine can make a noticeable difference.
Start with well-prepped skin
According to L’Oréal Paris, good makeup starts with skincare. Before applying concealer, gently moisturise the under-eye area and allow the product to absorb fully.
Avoid applying too much rich eye cream immediately before makeup, as excess product can leave the skin slippery and make concealer move more easily.
If your under-eye area tends to be dry, adequate hydration can help create a smoother-looking base.
Use less concealer
One of the easiest ways to prevent concealer from creasing is to use less. Applying a thick layer can make product more likely to collect in fine lines.
Ultra Beauty recommends applying a small amount where you actually need coverage, then blending it with a damp makeup sponge or small brush. You can always add another thin layer if necessary.

Set strategically
According to Maybelline, using powder is helpful. Setting powder can help reduce movement, but too much can make the under-eye area look dry or emphasise texture. After blending your concealer, lightly set it with a small, fluffy brush and a finely milled translucent powder.
For a more natural finish, concentrate powder on areas where your concealer tends to crease rather than coating the entire under-eye.
Give your makeup time
After applying concealer, look down or close your eyes briefly and check for product that has settled into lines. Gently blend those areas before setting.
Finally, remember that facial movement is normal. The goal isn’t necessarily completely crease-free concealer all day, but a comfortable, smooth-looking finish that lasts.
