Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter was happy with the second-half after he felt the side misunderstood the game plan in the first stanza.

Bernard Parker grabbed brace to become the club’s top goalscorer in the Premier Soccer League era, while Keagan Dolly laid on two assists.

“It was a lot more tough for me in the first half. I thought we were disjointed. We misunderstood the game plan.

We had a chat at half-time and I think the second half was much better tactically,” Baxter told SuperSport TV.

“We looked a lot more dangerous even when we were playing with a low block. I thought the players in the second half gave a good performance.

When asked about the injuries, “It’s quicker to mention the fit players than the injured players. The closest to coming back are Dube and Leo Castro. They back at full training but they’ve got to get themselves match fit so we’re waiting for them.

“We don’t know how bad Bernard’s is. It’s a bit of a hamstring. Khama’s shouldn’t be too bad because we took him off as a precaution to get some fresh legs on.

“I think the lads put their bodies on the line so they may get injured.

Baxter also added that Chiefs still have long way to go before hitting their stride.

“Look, let’s not get carried away. First half showed we have a long way to go before we are the real McCoy. We’re very good at times when we do the job properly.

We switch off at too many times and lose our confidence and our belief. We’ve got to get rid of that. We are slowly getting rid of it and the results are showing.”
