Lamontville Golden Arrows co-head coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi highlighted an element of selfishness in his team after suffering a second successive defeat in the league at the hands of Sekhukhune United.
Vilakaz and Mabhuti Khenyeza took charge of the side after the sacking of Lehlohonolo Seema just before the end of last season. Abafana Bes’thende started the season on a bad note after losing to their rivals Richards Bay. It doesn’t look good for the two coaches as they’ve only won two games ever since they took over.
Vilakazi felt that his side had opportunities to win the game against Babina Noko but feels his players were thinking about themselves instead of putting the team first.
“We were now chasing the game obviously had we went to halftime still 0-0 I don’t think we were gonna introduce two strikers but we had nothing to lose we had to focus on getting something but we wanted a goal so introduced two strikers,” Vilakazi said.
“We could have scored I think decision making from our offensive players where one needs to pass another one and he’s trying to shot himself the element of being selfish it’s something we have to address to our players or our team that out the team first before your surnames at the back”
The KZN side will have to quickly forget about the midweek loss and focus on facing the tricky Marumo Gallants whom they’ve got a perfect record against.
