DANCER and singer Thembi Seete (43) from Soweto, together with the remaining members of Boom Shaka, took fans down memory lane with their powerful performance on Sunday evening, 13 November.
Twitter went crazy as they haven’t seen the trio – Thembi, Theo Nhlengethwa and Junior Sokhela – perform in a while.
The group performed during Idols Season 18 grand finale held at the Heartfelt Arena in Tshwane, where Thapelo Molomo was crowned as the winner.
He won against top contender Nozi Sibiya.
Boom Shaka, made up of Thembi, Theo, Junior and the late Lebo Mathosa, was well-known for its hit single, It’s About Time.
They travelled the world and entertained the masses in the late 90s.
“Now I can only imagine Lebo Mathosa alive on that stage with Thembi Seete. The outfits, dance moves, the hairstyles! OMW! May her soul continue to rest in peace. I loved that woman. Even today.#IdolsSA,” DQ commented.
Oletilwe said Thembi’s performance was lit. “This woman has the energy of a 20-year-old girl. Haibo!” he said.
Joy Zelda said she really enjoyed Thembi’s performance.
Collin Macheke wrote: “Wow. Thembi, Theo and Junior taking us down memory lane with that Boom Shaka performance. I missed Lebo Mathosa. May her soul rest in peace.”
