Controversial reality TV star and sangoma Gogo Maweni made a jaw-dropping confession on Monday 27 June on the much-loved YouTube show Podcast and Chill.

The mom-of-three, who was accused of bewitching her babby daddies, actor Sthembiso “SK” Khoza and footballer Siyabonga Zulu, told hosts MacG, Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady that she indeed did cast a spell on Zulu.

GOGO MAWENI SAYS SHE BEWITCHED SIYABONGA ZULU

Maweni, who made a name for herself in the entertainment industry when she appeared on the Mona Love TV reality show, Izangoma Zodumo, is usually associated with witchcraft on social media. So when Podcast and Chill crew asked her about her baby daddies and if the bewitching allegations are true, she confessed to casting a spell on former Mamelodi Sundowns soccer player, Zulu, whom she has a baby boy with.

According to Maweni, she needed to “teach” Zulu a lesson. She claimed that she helped him with his career, she’d allow him to drive her car which she alleged he later crashed. She also claimed he had an R45 000 bill at a nightclub called Icon which she ended up paying while he cheated on her.

“It’s a thing of ‘you think you know better, when I’ve helped you,’” she explained.

HOW DID THE BEWITCHING ALLEGATIONS START?

In April, a video of SK Khoza verbally attacking a man surfaced on social media. The clip, which raise eyebrows, eventually led to tweeps digging up some information about the actor and Zulu who had a few things in common. Both media personalities have Maweni as a baby mama, both of them have been accused of being deadbeat fathers and both their careers have gone down and under.

What fuelled the allegations, even more, was an Instagram post in which Maweni wrote, “I don’t have baby daddy issues. All issues were settled in my number [ancetral hut] The outcome was to leave them with nothing…if my kids don’t “eat” no one eats – do the math!” And indeed people did the math.

“I have ancestors and they hear me when I cry. I’ve also had enough,” she said.

“I didn’t do anything that anybody wouldn’t do. When I say ‘wouldn’t do’ when something is above you you tell your ancestors and God, and what they do with it it’s their problem, not mine.”
