Veteran winger Keagan Dolly has made a significant return to the Mother City, signing a one-year deal with Cape Town City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The move, which includes an option to extend, sees the 32-year-old join the club as a free agent after his recent departure from TS Galaxy.

Dolly’s arrival is a major coup for Cape Town City as they aim for promotion back to the DStv Premiership.

His wealth of experience, gained both domestically and abroad, is expected to be a crucial asset for the club.

The seasoned forward was recently spotted supporting his new team from the stands during their goalless draw against Venda FC.

This transfer marks a homecoming for Dolly, whose professional career kicked off in Cape Town with Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs). His early career highlights include a successful period with Mamelodi Sundowns, where he secured multiple trophies, followed by a move to French Ligue 1 side Montpellier in 2017.

After returning to South Africa, Dolly had spells with Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy. His enduring quality was recently on display as he represented Bafana Bafana at the African Nations Championship earlier this year.

Club officials at Cape Town City believe Dolly’s leadership and versatility will be key to their promotion push. His proven ability to influence matches and mentor younger players is seen as a major boost for the squad’s ambition to return to top-flight football.

No need to guess anymore.
