Venetia mine donates 33 new jump bags to Musina EMS

De Beers Venetia mine has donated 33 brand new jump bags to the Musina Emergency Medical Services recently. The jump bags will be particularly useful to aid in the provision of emergency care and will carry various supplies including bandages, syringes and drips amongst others.

Musina Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Ntovhedzeni Ligege said that they appreciated the good gesture and this would assist in strengthening the health services in the communities.

“This is a very much appreciated donation, that will make a huge difference to our emergency medical service efforts. This is not the first time Venetia mine has stepped in to assist; whenever we shout, you respond positively – and we hope we will continue to sustain our good relationship”.

The Musina EMS team is comprised of twenty-one intermediate life support personnel and twelve basic life support personnel that aid Musina and its surrounding areas.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Venetia mine’s Community Health Specialist, Mzwandile Damane said: “This is one of many initiatives that we have undertaken to improve health outcomes in our communities.

“These jump bags will definitely go a long way in terms of ensuring Musina EMS is well prepared to execute their prepared to duties of providing the required health services to those impacted.” said Damane.
