The eight groups of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League were drawn in Istanbul on Thursday.
Defending champions Real Madrid will face RB Leipzig, Shakhtar and Celtic and will be regarded as favourites to make it out of Group F.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona were paired in Group C, meaning we will see a much-expected homecoming of Robert Lewandowski.
Group C must be considered as the so-called ‘Group of Death’ with Inter Milan and Plzen also in the mix.
All 2022/23 UCL groups:
Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers
Group B: FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Brugge
Group C: FC Bayern, FC Barcelona, Inter, Plzen
Group D: Frankfurt, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting, Marseille
Group E: AC Milan, Chelsea, Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb
Group F: Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar, Celtic
Group G: Manchester City, FC Sevilla, Dortmund, Copenhagen
Group H: Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Benfica, Maccabi
The group stages will be played out on the following dates.
- Matchday 1: 6/7 September
- Matchday 2: 13/14 September
- Matchday 3: 4/5 October
- Matchday 4: 11/12 October
- Matchday 5: 25/26 October
- Matchday 6: 1/2 November
The Round of 16 draw takes place on 7 November, while this season’s UCL final will take place on 10 June 2023 at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium.
