South African sensation Tyla is gearing up for the release of her eagerly awaited mixtape, We Wanna Party, and she has already set the stage ablaze.

On July 11, she unveiled her second single of 2025, “Is It”, which exploded onto Spotify’s charts, shattering her personal record with an astonishing 1,274,357 streams in just one day.

On local charts, “Is It” made notable entries.

According to HotNewHipHop, it fuses Amapiano, Afrobeats, and pop, delivering “hard-hitting but still entrancing vibes” and serving as the lead-in for Tyla’s forthcoming summer project.

This record-breaking success adds to an already illustrious career.

Tyla’s debut album, Tyla (March 2024), broke Spotify records by accumulating over 630 million streams in its first week, shattering previous records set by Burna Boy. The album eventually surpassed 1 billion streams by June 2024.

One of its standout tracks, “Water,” also became the first solo song by an African female artist to exceed 1 billion Spotify streams, reported IOL.

To bring this movement to life, she’s organising exclusive launch parties in Berlin and London, inviting her fanbase, the “Tygers,” to celebrate in person. Attendees can sign up through her official website.
