Tyla’s We Wanna Party becomes SA’s most streamed project of 2025

Global pop star Tyla is rewriting the rules of success once again as her latest release, the We Wanna Party EP, has officially become the most-streamed South African project of 2025.

The Ep racked up over 40 million streams on Spotify within its first seven days.

The milestone, confirmed by 2022AFRICA via X (formerly Twitter), puts Tyla ahead of every other South African artist this year in terms of album and EP performance.

Her fans have quickly declared the genre-blending project one of her best yet, celebrating its infectious sound and boundary-pushing style.

Blending Afropop, R&B, Amapiano, and experimental pop, the EP is being praised for its rich production and bold artistic direction.

With every track, Tyla continues to assert her range and global appeal, all while staying grounded in the sound that launched her from Johannesburg to worldwide fame.

Social media has erupted with support since the drop, with fans creating dance challenges, sharing aesthetic visuals, and expressing just how addictive the music is.

“She’s really in her own lane,” one user posted, while others called it “an instant classic.”

Fresh off her Grammy win for Best African Music Performance with her viral hit Water, Tyla is proving her staying power isn’t a fluke.

Her latest project has not only taken over charts in the U.S., U.K., and across Africa, it’s also cemented her place as a trailblazer for South African artists on the global stage.
