Global superstar Tyla is set to bring her A*POP era home to Johannesburg with a special fan appreciation event at Gold Reef City this Sunday, 16 August 2026.

The Gold Reef City takeover forms part of the momentum around Tyla’s well-received second album, which marks a new chapter in the international star’s career. The album has been described as a more personal project, reflecting her growth and self-discovery.

The Grammy Award-winning pop singer announced the A*POP Official Takeover on her Instagram, inviting her loyal fanbase, known as the Tygers, to join her for a day of music, entertainment and celebration at the Johannesburg theme park.
The event is scheduled to run from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing fans to experience Gold Reef City as they celebrate Tyla’s latest musical chapter.
The announcement comes as the singer prepares for her South African homecoming shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg in the upcoming months.

Special giveaway for fans
Adding to the excitement, Tyla is giving away 1,000 tickets to lucky fans. The giveaway was also announced on her Instagram page, with the first Tygers being offered the chance to attend the special day, should they follow the prompts provided in the post.
