Two Downs Stars In CAFCL Team Of The Week

Mamelodi Sundowns duo Aubrey Modiba and Cassius Mailula are in the CAF Champions League Team of the Week – the latter already for a second time.

Mailula, 21, is experiencing an incredible breakthrough campaign and was once again on the scoresheet when Masandawana beat Cotonsport 3-1 in Cameroon on Friday.

The young striker scored Downs’ first and second goal, with Tapelo Morena scoring the other.

As a consequence, it doesn’t surprise that Mailula made the Team of the Week for a second successive time, while Modiba was also selected after setting up the third goal.

Sundowns are one of just three teams who have won both their opening games of the CAFCL group stages, the others being Raja Casablanca and ES Tunis.

Both these teams also had two players in the latest edition of the CAFCL Team of the Week, which you can see in full below.
