Jub Jub, also known as Molemo Maarohanye, is in court in Johannesburg on Thursday. He’s a well-known presenter of the show Uyajola 99 and a musician. He was given bail of R10,000 in July.
Maarohanye is facing serious charges, including three counts of r@pe, two of attempted murd3r, and one of assault.
One of these charges was made by a famous media personality who used to be his girlfriend. These incidents go back to 2006 and 2009 when they were in a relationship.
According to NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane, the media personality opened the case in February 2022.
This happened because the rapper had said disrespectful things about her on a podcast. Other women also came forward after her post became widely known.
Last month, Jub Jub turned himself in to the Brixton Police station and was later released on bail after a bail hearing that no one opposed.
