As Lesotho gear up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) midfielder Tumelo Makha was the first foreign-based player to report to the Likuena camp.

Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) confirmed that Makha linked up with the national team on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old footballer played a significant role in helping TTM to reach the Nedbank Cup semifinals, where they got knocked out by arch-rivals Marumo Gallants with a 1-0 scoreline.

This was Makha’s first season playing for TTM in the GladAfrica Championship.

Lesotho will commence the 2023 Afcon Group H campaign against Comoros on June 3 in Moroni.

After that, they will entertain Cote d’Ivoire in a home game on June 9 at Dobsonville Stadium.

Likuena will play their home game in South Africa after being forced to take their international home matches abroad after Setsoto Stadium was banned from hosting international games by the Caf last year due to its bad condition.
