The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) conducted a co-ordinated enforcement operation on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, resulting in 20 arrests and the seizure of dangerous consumer goods across Wonderboom, Centurion, and Mamelodi.
In Wonderboom and Centurion, officers from the Overload Control Unit apprehended 20 foreign nationals, primarily Zimbabwean, for violating the Immigration Act.
The individuals were taken into custody for residing in the country illegally.

Simultaneously, units in Mamelodi targeted business non-compliance.
In Eersterust, officials confiscated hazardous and expired food products from local shops.

In Nellmapius, the focus shifted to car-wash businesses, most of which were found to be operating in breach of city by-laws.
The TMPD warned business owners against erecting illegal structures on pavements. Such obstructions force pedestrians into the road, creating significant safety risks for all road users.
