Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter said his side’s 6-0 victory over Liver Brothers, in the Nedbank Cup last 32 round was not an easy encounter despite the big score line.
Rodrick Kabwe, Man of the Match Daniel Cardoso, Chibukwe Ohizu, Given Mashikinya, Vusimuzi Mncube and Tashreeq Morris were all on the score sheet for the DStv Premiership side, on the rainy evening at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Wednesday.
Ba Bina Noko came into the cup clash albeit against the lowest-ranked side in the competition, on the back of two straight league losses. Truter admitted that his charges wanted to start on the front foot from the first whistle even though they didn’t know much about Brothers.
“I think here and there we could have made better decisions. Here and there it was a bit frustrating as well but it wasn’t an easy game with the lack of information on our opponents in terms of tactics and players and things like that it was almost zero,” he said.
“What we knew about them was that they are the Milo Cup champions that come from the region so we expected a talented bunch of players here tonight. I give respect to the opponents for developing such talent and putting them on the show as well
“For us, it was always a tricky game with the opponent you don’t know. I think there were some nerves but we wanted to be on the front foot from the word go especially from the last result as well.
“Yes the cup gave us an opportunity to play a game that we must win and that’s what we wanted. It’s into the next round, that’s pleasing but again decision making and just in the last third again we should have made better decisions”
