Truter Sends Jibes At Swallows & Kerr

AmaZulu coach Brandon Truter has not minced his words and sent several shots at his former club Swallows FC as well as Dylan Kerr.

Truter was speaking after Usuthu’s 1-0 win over Swallows when he revealed that the Dube Birds still haven’t paid him settlement after he was sacked earlier in the season.

Brakkies, as he is affectionally known, also took a shot at his predecessor Kerr, saying the European-born coach should be doing a lot better.

“You can see Dylan Kerr had 19 games to turn it around, and for a coach that is worth his salt, he could have turned it around,” he said after the game. “But he played into our hands by changing the tactics in the second half, he left it open at the back and we sneaked the one.

“He is a foreign coach, he should be doing better than local coaches, so again it is a point for the local coaches. This means a lot for me as well, saying  that we should be looking at local coaches and not at cheap foreign imports.”

Truter also praised AmaZulu’s management and the way they’ve been supporting him as compared to Swallows FC.

“At AmaZulu, there’s massive support from management, from the chairman, from the technical team to the kit man, to everybody. I was not afforded that at Swallows,” he added.

“There was very little support at Swallows – the support at AmaZulu has also given me and also players as well, and you can see the turnaround as well.”

Usuthu have won three of their four league games since Truter took over, a run which has seen them climb into seventh place.
