JMPD ISSUE TRAVEL ADVISORY

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has already issued a detailed travel advisory ahead of the Travis Scott concert.

Thousands of fans are expected to make their way to the FNB Stadium precinct.

With gates opening at 4:00 PM and the main show kicking off at 8:30 PM, authorities have warned of heavy traffic.

ROAD CLOSURES DUE TO TRAVIS SCOTT PERFORMANCE

They announced full road closures on routes including Soweto Highway, Golden Highway, Nasrec Road, and Booysens Reserve Road from 11:00 AM.

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla urged concertgoers, especially VIP and Hospitality ticket holders, to arrive early to avoid congestion.

Fans are also encouraged to use Park and Ride services operating from Sandton City, Montecasino, Menlyn Park, Cresta Shopping Centre, and Mall of Africa.

CIRCUS MAXIMUS TOUR

Travis Scott’s concert marks one of South Africa’s biggest international music events of 2025, according to Big Concerts.

It reflects the country’s growing importance on the global live music map.

The artist’s choice of Johannesburg as the first African stop of his Circus Maximus World Tour demonstrates the city’s rising influence as a vibrant entertainment hub.

SOUTH AFRICA AND THE WORLD STAGE

Beyond the hype, Travis Scott’s return to South Africa highlights the increasing crossover between international hip-hop and local genres like Amapiano.

His interactions with local stars such as Tyler ICU signal a deeper musical connection between South Africa and the world stage.

As Joburg prepares for a night of explosive energy, fans are ready to experience Travis Scott’s unmatched live performance.
