Travis Scott makes history at FNB stadium, South Africa

American rapper Travis Scott has joined the list of global stars who have managed to pack Johannesburg’s iconic FNB Stadium to capacity.

The Utopia hitmaker delivered a sold-out performance on Saturday night, 11 October 2025, as part of his Circus Maximus World Tour.

The show drew a massive turnout, with thousands of fans filling Africa’s biggest live entertainment venue despite heavy rain and traffic delays around Nasrec.

Scott’s high-energy set, complete with stunning visuals, pyrotechnics, and an electric stage presence, earned rave reviews from concertgoers and industry watchers alike.

The achievement places Travis Scott in the same league as Chris Brown, who made headlines in December 2024 when he sold out FNB Stadium on two consecutive nights during his Under the Influence Tour.

Those record-breaking shows raised the bar for international performers in South Africa, sparking conversations about the ability of local acts to command similar audiences.

So far, rapper Cassper Nyovest remains the only South African artist to have successfully filled the 95,000-capacity venue, an accomplishment that continues to be celebrated in the country’s entertainment scene.
