According to SoccerBeat, the Bundesliga side is believed to be monitoring the 21-year-old after another impressive campaign at club level and his standout performances for Bafana Bafana.

Mofokeng has developed into one of Orlando Pirates’ most influential attacking players. He produced 11 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances across all competitions during the past season.

His performances on the international stage have only increased the spotlight around him. European clubs are now believed to be keeping a close eye on his progress.

A move to the Bundesliga would represent another major milestone in Mofokeng’s rapid rise. Bayer Leverkusen have built a reputation for identifying and developing young talent. The reported interest in another sign of the growing recognition surrounding the Orlando Pirates academy product.

The attacker has also been linked with French giants AS Monaco. It adds to speculation that his future could become one of the biggest transfer stories involving a South African player.
